Stories, reflections, and conversations about food and everyday life.

Loretta Friedrich
Food has always been where I feel most at home. I am drawn to the honest moments that happen around it whether that's the sight of canola fields in bloom, the feel of soil-rich hands after time in the garden, or the satisfaction of harvesting something I've grown myself.
I often chat with farmers and producers at local markets, learning their stories as much as I'm gathering their ingredients. I've spent years working in food as an educator, speaker, writer, recipe developer, and business owner. I'm also certified in holistic nutrition and an enthusiastic picturetaker of a pretty plate!
My work has been featured in magazines, blogs, and local television. What continues to inspire me most are the personal food stories people carry with them. I believe there is meaning in each one, an insight in the everyday ways we grow, cook, share, and remember food.
(Y)our Food Story
Your food story is part of who you are.
It holds the moments, comfort meals, struggles, celebrations – all the pieces that have influenced how you eat and care for yourself. There’s wisdom in those experiences, even the hard ones. When you start to look at them and layer in new tools and insights, you can nourish yourself in a way that feels more honest and more you.
Nutrition isn’t just about what’s on your plate.
It’s also about your rhythms, routines, relationships with food and the people around you. That full picture – why, how, when, where, and with whom you eat – matters more than we’re often told or aware. Your food story is alive, and it’s always evolving. The more you understand it, the more you can hear what your body truly needs.
